Taekwondo Club: Treasurer

Hey! I’m Catherine and I’m currently in my first year studying French and German. I’m applying for the role of treasurer because I’d love to give back to UCL Taekwondo — after the club and community have given me so many unforgettable experiences — doing what I love (admin). 

My confidence in this role comes from the fact I’ve worked as an umpire and official at my home club for four years and Editor-in-Chief of my sixth form’s language magazine; I’m also well-versed with tight record-keeping due to my medical condition which requires constant supply monitoring and management. All these roles guarantee my communication and coordination skills as well as my position as a highly organised and disciplined person (and I hope knowing this will ground your confidence in me too!). I also train three to four sessions a week at and compete regularly with UCL so even though I’ve been here only a year I’m certain I can support the club comprehensively.

UCL Taekwondo has been and still is the genuine highlight of my university experience and I’d love the opportunity to continue making it incredible for all of you next year!! ✊💞

Hey, I am Lara and I am a second year Biochemistry student and I am running for the club’s Treasurer position this year!

To be very honest, if you asked me about Taekwondo 2 years ago, I probably wouldn’t be able to tell you very much, but now I can’t imagine being without it! I started Taekwondo in the beginning of my first year in 2024. One of my friends told me about a Taekwondo Taster session she was going to, it sounded pretty interesting and I wanted to try it out too. About 1.5 years later, it has been so much fun! From the intense weekly training sessions to the nerve-racking competitions, I have learnt so much and met so many amazing people.

As a member of this incredible club, I would love to make use of my skills in data management & problem-solving which I have developed as a part of my degree and work experience. I wish to ensure that the club’s finances are managed effectively, necessary bills are paid and to contribute to the smooth running of the club behind the scenes.
