Table Tennis Club: Treasurer

Hi, I’m Christy, a 1st year Applied Medical Sciences student, and I’m running for Treasurer.

I attended table tennis sessions every week in college for 2 years straight (I was very locked in), and unfortunately, the organisation wasn’t the best. So I know how effective good organisation and proper resources can be in improving everyone’s experience. So I would love to improve the experiences of current members and new members next year. Even though the first year was super busy and I couldn’t attend as often as I wanted, every time I do, I feel welcomed, despite not being particularly AMAZING at table tennis. I love the rallies, the little chats, and how everyone is just happy to help each other improve (literally just learnt a cool return last week!). I’m really grateful for the supportive and relaxed atmosphere, and I’d love to use my abilities to help maintain it. So that everyone, from beginners to more advanced and competitive players, feels welcomed and included!!

I’m really good with numbers, so as a treasurer, I’d ensure the club’s finances are managed carefully and transparently, with nice and clear budgeting so we can keep sessions accessible, improve resources, and continue building a welcoming environment for everyone. I’d also love the opportunity to be more involved by helping organise social sessions and supporting the club’s administrative work.

I’m really hoping for this opportunity to give back to our club that’s made playing table tennis so fun for me! 😁

I am standing because I want to ensure the society’s finances are managed responsibly and transparently, so the committee can plan events confidently and deliver strong value for members. I have been in the club for two years and have seen the importance of managing equipment and payments like reimbursments. I am confident in deadlines and keeping things organised so that finance would not cause a headache for our members. If you want someone reliable and organised in the role, I’d love your support.
