Sohan Das

Hi, I’m Sohan, a second-year med student, and I am excited to run for Pre-Clinical Education Lead!

Having spent 2 years studying preclinical content, whilst serving as an academic rep across 3 different modules, I have developed a strong understanding of both the curriculum and what students actually need.

I have always loved teaching - I have delivered tutorials at UCL, helped run conferences, and previously led my school’s MedSoc, where I organised teaching that helped over 30 students in securing medical school offers.

I am committed to continuing the excellent established education opportunities we already have, but I also want to improve them by:

  • Introducing SurgSoc Module Revision Sessions, so that you can revise relevant high-yield content from the prior module with clinical questions
  • Increasing the number of second-year Mock OSCE days and starting to run them earlier in the year so that you can experience as many different stations as possible before formatives
  • Introducing Year 3 Tutorials on preclinical content so you don’t have to worry ahead of clin years
  • Ensuring speciality committees maintain autonomy over our own teaching and resources whilst simultaneously collaborating with MedSoc and Anatomy Soc to increase teaching opportunities and attendance
  • Increasing the number of surgical portfolio advice talks by helping every speciality group arrange talks from current trainees and consultants about their  pathway, portfolio, and research
