Hi everyone! I hope to be your next Media Officer.

A strong social media presence can help more students discover the events, opportunities, and people that make surgery such an exciting field. As Media Officer, I would aim to create engaging, informative, and consistent content that promotes events and highlights opportunities in surgery.

I currently serve as Publicity Officer for UCL ENT Society and am part of the Publicity Team for the International Neurology & Neurosurgery Conference (INNC). Through these roles, I have gained experience promoting events, designing content, and coordinating outreach across multiple platforms. INNC is the largest undergraduate neurology conference in the UK, and working on its publicity has given me experience in large-scale event promotion and maintaining engagement leading up to major conferences.

If elected, I would focus on:

• Increasing visibility of society events through engaging posts, countdowns, speaker highlights, and post-event summaries.

• Showcasing opportunities in surgery, including “day in the life” features, specialty spotlights, and posts highlighting research and shadowing.

• Collaborating with other societies to broaden outreach and promote interdisciplinary events.

• Boosting student engagement through interactive content such as polls, Q&As, and short educational posts.

I would work to ensure the Surgical Society’s social media is dynamic, informative, and widely followed.
