I have experience running clubs and societies back in sixthform and dealing with their finance. I love the surf club and really enjoyed the trip to Portugal last year, the people are amazing and I want to contribute to the society in the best way that I can, which I believe is this position. 🌊🌊🏄
The end of the story is money. Without it, none of this is possible. Not the pub socials, not the black tie balls, and certainly not the trips to Portugal and Spain. When it comes down to it, this election is about your Great British Pounds, and who you trust to hold them.
Surf Club has become more than just a society to me these past two years. From being a possible social with unfamiliar faces and unimaginable trip destinations, Surf Club has become who I want to get coffee with every sunny morning and who I choose to spend every reading week abroad with.
To give back to the greatest society at UCL, I would love to be our Surf Club's Treasurer. In this role I promise to do the unglamourous work of paying those bills and signing those checks to ensure we can continue creating unforgettable experiences for our honest members. Allow me to rinse the student union for all their worth, to give you affordable trips, accessible memberships and hefty bar tabs.
I understand the importance of a society that welcomes all, especially on an economic level. Surf Club's affordability is the one of the reasons I personally was able to join and experiment with surfing. If elected, I promise to continue this proud tradition of low barriers to entry to a sport that should be for everyone. The ocean belong to us all, and as Treasurer, I will do all in my power to embody this principle within my role at UCL.
