Gabi Lemos

Hey, I’m Gabi from Geography in year 2.

I’ve had so much fun at Stage Crew Society over the past two years working on many shows and have a few ideas for what to do as vice president!

  • Resurrect/continue the weekly newsletter and partner with the Publicity Officer to share the information over social media as well, as there can be so much on it’s easy to miss things.
  • Provide continuous guidance, especially helping  new members find their footing, as some little topics that aren’t clearly linked to one committee role or another can be hard to navigate but resolving these can give a big confidence boost when starting out.

A core aim will be to improve the training experience, by building upon our current stage crew families system for training – more experienced members can sign up to come in during a show to give individual help to people wanting to learn about something specific, as in a busy prod week active teaching moments can be hard to create with just the people assigned to a show, which can leave newer members wanting to learn, more experienced members wanting to teach, but no structured way for this to happen.

I’d also look to add more slots for core training specifically by taking advantage of later start times on some show days so people can get started more flexibly throughout the year.

For committee meetings, I am a world-class, unmatched note-taker so I've got you on that one and you will be able to enjoy cakes and treats at meetings!

Hi, I'm the No.1 flyer in Stage Crew (according to Webbe). Stage Crew has been such a welcoming environment for me, and I want to help make sure it feels the same for everyone next year. I'm on the quiet side but that makes me great at listening and writing them down.

When I joined, I had no experience whatsoever, but Stage Crew training has taught me everything from jigsawing to flying. My favorite jobs are making steel deck (especially using podgers!) and drilling, so I don't mind doing the nitty gritty that no one really likes to do (like removing staples and going to Camden Screwfix).

Though there's lots that can be learned on the job, it can be a bit intimidating to be thrown in the deep end. As vice president, I will make sure that training sessions are organized, accessible, and genuinely useful. I’ll also support the President and committee by recording ideas and making sure they turn into real action.

Please spare a vote for me :)

HI GUYS I HAVE LOVED BEING PART OF STAGE CREW AND WANT TO CONTINUE TO MAKE SURE WE ARE THE BEST SOCIETY EVER!!! Being social sec this year and working on all the shows I did was so much fun and I’ve loved getting to know all of you!! As VP I want to continue to foster the whimsical vibe I hope I’ve spread this year, focusing on outreach and welcoming new members!

AS VP I WILL…

  • Continue Webbe’s legacy with stage crew families, focusing on making sure there is further engagement between parents and children by collaborating with the social secs
  • Run workshops and providing training opportunities, largely pushing this in term 1 to bring in as many members as possible and make sure we have a trained cohort prepared for the trenches of term 2
  • Closely communicate with other societies to ensure that we have plenty of opportunities to work on shows (e.g. working with social secs to continue running collab/swap socials!)
  • Bring back the newsletter (but actually though I love a good newsletter) &  collaborate with the publicity officer to make it as cute as poss!
  • Work alongside the welfare officer to make sure we maintain strong working relationships with performance societies despite the lack of blooms shows
  • Expand to new merch ! Exciting merch !
  • Take REALLY good minutes for committee meetings trust

VOTE 4 ME I LOVE YOU ALL <3
