My favourite thing about Stage Crew is the community we have, it is such a supportive, fun (minus the 1am get-outs booooo 🍅🍅🍅) space to be in, and I’d love to help build on that even more next year! So here are a few ideas I have <3
- Stage Crew touch grass
- Joint welfare sessions where we step away from the theatre and spend time outdoors together photosynthesising <3 Welfare walks, picnics etc
- Coffee mornings & study sessions
- I fear sometimes we actually need to lock in and get work done, so this would be a chance for people to actually do the course they signed up for without getting fomo from not being at a social 😋
- Game Nights!!
- Have more activities for the non-drinking members of SC at our pub trips! We all love a good game of Mafia or Guess Who
- Field Trips
- Day trips to get away from London as an extension of Stage Crew touch grass
- (Most important of all) Stage Crew Minecraft
- minecraft server. now.
Socials are going to be so fun next year guys I can't wait to meet everyone!
Hi, I'm Go. You've probably seen me in the theatre workshop making random set pieces. If you haven't, you've probably seen me at a pub.
I like socials, I like drinking alcoholic beverages, I like drinking non-alcoholic beverages, and I like organising things.
I really really really really think that ultimately the most important part of any society is its social aspect, and I have met so many people in Stage Crew that I'd call friends for life.
Stage Crew is a stressful society, we all know that. My hope is that as social sec I could provide a nice escape from all the chaos and stress, and also facilitate bonding and memory making.
"All this yapping, you haven't said what you'd actually do??!!"
- Regular alcohol-free socials
- Regular pub socials
- More one-off socials, like theatre trips, pub crawls, games, etc.
What I'm offering isn't anything revolutionary or new, but having been in this society for two years I do truly value the community it brings and that is why I am running for social sec.
I joined stage crew this year as a third year astrophysicist to find something else to prioritise over my degree. From day one I met the loveliest people and had so much fun helping with get ins and get outs, and I’d love to be on the committee in my final year to give a little something back to the society.
As Social Sec, I’ll make sure there’s plenty of pub and other fun socials throughout the terms so there’s as many opportunities to get to know each other as possible. I’ll also always be on the lookout for events and shows (and cheap tickets!!) so we all see something other than the inside of the theatre. I’m also very crafty and will make sure we have plenty of craft-based socials to really take a relaxing step away from everything (realistically the degree)
I’ve also had plenty of experience planning and organising events this year as Events Coordinator for Salsa Society, so I’m excellent at working with other people to get stuff done and prioritising a great time above all!!
I’d love to make sure everyone feels as welcomed to stage crew as I have these past few months and I know I’d smash it as your Social Sec!!
