Heya!
My name's Sophia, I am a first year, and I am running for publicity officer for stage crew because I would love the opportunity to be more involved with promoting both stage crew and our shows.
I have previous experience in helping run social channels for clubs in the past at high school, as well as here at UCL. I really enjoy coming up with ideas for posts and reels, and I feel as though I have a good awareness of what makes a good socials page, (it helps that I am chronically online). It really is something I always have energy and time for. I had a really great time being a part of stage crew this year, and I would really love the chance to be involved with marketing and publicity for shows in wider ways. If I am elected, I hope to raise a lot of awareness for stage crew, and all the great things we do.
Hey Stage Crew!!! My name is Athena (also hopefully known as your favourite freshers' rep 😁😁😁) and I'm running to be your '26-27 Publicity Officer!
There are a few reasons why I believe I qualify for this position:
⭐Media Experience --> As an Editor for both my High School Yearbook and Magazine, I have extensive experience with content creation, editing, and design. Having (very unfortunately) been involved in the 2020 Minecraft streaming epidemic, I’m also very familiar with videography and using editing software such as Premiere Pro, DaVinci etc.
⭐Involvement --> In my first year, I’ve already been in 13 shows across multiple roles, and being so involved means I’ve seen the effort and creativity that goes into everything, so I’d love the opportunity to properly showcase everyone's talent <3
⭐Being (possibly too) online --> There are so many cute trends & videos I want to do with everyone!! It would be such a fun bonding opportunity and (hopefully) make prod weeks less stressful <3 I also reply to things really fast (& I don't even have notifications on what a flex fr)
⭐I have interesting thoughts! --> this is obviously quite subjective but I would appreciate if yall agreed just for the sake of my ego xx
ANYWAYS let's be serious here: as publicity, I’d love to boost crew’s visibility, ensure the incredible work happening behind the scenes gets the recognition it deserves, and encourage more people to join and be part of what we do! (SC world domination when)

Hey everyone, my name is Milly, and I have been a member of UCL Stage Crew for the past year. Taking up sound roles on Sister Act, Spamalot, and Soulstice has been one of the most rewarding parts of my time at UCL. I entered the society with some experience of organising events and running social media for my Girl Guide unit over the summer. In immersing myself in what Stage Crew has to offer, from training weeks and shows to socials, I have gained so much. Social media is the most important tool for students to find these opportunities and take them as I have done.
The role of publicity officer attracts me for numerous reasons. To begin with, I have always been enticed by working in the media, and have pursued it as a hobby and potential career path for the past 3 years. My course in Media Production from Liberties College in Dublin provided my with the skills of film and audio production, along with creative photography and scriptwriting, which are useful in content creation.
As publicity officer, I would centre my role around increasing the accessibility of UCL Stage Crew. Particularly for your first show, I know that applying to any crew can be daunting, so I would like to post a "Day in the Life" of each of the roles on shows, highlighting exactly what each does on a production and what prior experience is needed. This could be applied to the two training weeks as well. I would also propose further collaboration with other UCL social media to showcase the work that we do.
I joined stage crew this year as a third year astrophysicist to find something else to prioritise over my degree. From day one I met the loveliest people and had so much fun helping with get ins and get outs, and I’d love to be on the committee in my final year to give a little something back to the society.
As Publicity Officer, I’ll make sure it’s very apparent how much work goes into every production and share all the best moments from start to end of tech week. I’ll publicise so hard you won’t be able to miss a single crew call or social – you’ll never be as well-informed as when I’m in charge!!
I’ve also had plenty of experience looking after a society’s social media when I did the same role for Salsa Society last year, so I’m highly qualified at the job. I’m a wizard on canva and I’ve seen every reel under the sun so I know what works and what doesn’t. I’m also super organised, committed, and very very competent!
I wanna show how welcoming Stage crew has been these past few months so that new members know how easy it is to get involved and how many different roles they can try with zero pressure and tonnes of support.
If you want organisation, dedication and an unfathomable amount of enthusiasm, I’m the Publicity Officer for you!!
