Derek Lam

We stand at a critical political juncture at UCL and beyond. With increasing student repression more broadly, it is now more imperative than ever to have a prominent multi-tendency revolutionary socialist presence on campus, one that stretches Marxism.

As the current treasurer, I'm happy to have aided in many of the events we have done or taken part in this year. From our role in supporting current struggles for the liberation of colonised peoples to our continued activism on campus, the year has seen a myriad of successes. Though not without setbacks, our society has stood in solidarity with other groups to demand revolutionary social transformation at our university.

Not only should we continue our progress this year, but we must intensify our struggles to stand in the face of wider repression from the capitalist apparatus.

As a person once noted, "This order of things cannot always endure. I have registered my protest against it. I recognise the feebleness of my effort, but, fortunately, I am not alone."
