Snowsports Club: Returner Rep

Hi, I’m Selin, a third year Biochemical Engineering student continuing onto a Master’s. As Treasurer, I have gained extensive behind the scenes experience ensuring Snowsports runs smoothly. I oversee key administrative responsibilities, from booking coaches and coordinating logistics to completing risk assessments and managing budgets. I have also developed a strong understanding of how to work effectively with the Students’ Union to ensure events and trips run safely and efficiently.

Beyond operations, I focus on creating lasting value for the club. I designed and organised the production of our Snowsports bandanas, creating merchandise that strengthens our identity and can continue generating income in future years.

Snowsports has been one of the most rewarding parts of my university experience. I have loved the sport and the sense of community built through weekly socials, training, competitions and trips away. Seeing the club grow year on year has been incredibly exciting, and I am proud to have contributed to that progress.

As I continue into a Master’s, I want to use my experience to support future committee members and new members alike, share practical knowledge and help ensure smooth transitions. My aim is not only to maintain what we have built, but to help the club grow further by strengthening our community and expanding opportunities for everyone involved.
