Sikh Society: Treasurer

Hi, I’m Kavan, I study Economics and I'm a First-Year Rep on the UCL Sikh Society team. I am running for the position of Treasurer because I have the analytical and organisational skills required to diligently, sustainably and transparently manage financial accounts.

Through practical experience in financial accounting in ZSL’s Finance Department and the UCLAM Finance Bootcamp, I have developed invaluable skills using software such as Excel to analyse financial statements, process invoices and register purchase orders. As Treasurer, I can apply such skills to accurately track revenue and expenditure for the Society, as well as ensure compliance with Student Union regulations.

In my spare time, I am responsible for collecting funds and booking nets for cricket training with my friends using an online payment system. This has not only made me familiar with organising payments for events, but it has also taught me the importance of financial transparency.

As Treasurer, I will liaise with potential sponsors to establish partnerships with external organisations, having communicated with universities from across the globe as an Executive on the UCL Journal of Economics team. I will employ such collaborative skills to secure sponsorships with businesses to provide funding opportunities for the Society.

I will continue to give back to the community by bringing honesty, integrity and a passion for seva to the role. I am timely, thorough and trustworthy so vote for me: Kavan for Treasurer.
