Rugby Club (Women's): Captain

Hey guys, some of you might only know me as being silly at socials, but I promise I lock in on the pitch! Anyways, the reason I’ve decided to run for captain is because when I first joined rugby (football was toxic lol), I went to my local clubs training session knowing nobody, and my captain was the first person to speak to me. She introduced me to everyone and by the end of the session I couldn’t wait to come back the next week. I want to be that person for both the current team (love you guys so much) and for next years’ fresh. The main goal is to make sure no one feels like they don’t belong #weloveeveryone. 

My goals for the season are:

• Make everyone comfortable and confident on the pitch
• Get great recruitment in freshers’ week
• Make it a positive fun environment
• I want us to be the best team on the pitch, and the closest one off it

I find that with rugby, mindset is everything; if we go into the game thinking were gonna lose, odds are we’ll lose. My aim as captain would be to prepare us for the tougher games so we’re all confident, keep the vibes up, but also be disciplined and organised. I lowkey already shout at you guys in the game, so be prepared for more I guess. I’ll also keep Abi’s legacy alive and give some pre-game words of wisdom. 

I can’t wait to see what the future holds for this team (Varsity win??), and I hope you’ll all trust me enough to lead the team. Also, I promise I’ll be nice to the SU, keep my rein as team braider, and make more spag bol xoxo
