Quant Society: Welfare Officer

Hi, this is Ari, the current Quant Soc 1st year rep. I am running for the role of welfare officer because I understand how intimidating it can be for someone trying to navigate the field of quant finance and how welfare is really important to form the foundation of a good society. 

I think that perspective is something our committee really needs. Instead of just focusing on high-level networking, I want to make sure we’re looking out for the people behind the applications. I’d love to see us have more low pressure spaces, such as casual socials where the goal isn't to network or impress anyone, but just to take a breath and support each other. My main goal is to be a friendly, approachable face for anyone who feels that "quant-xiety" or burnout, especially the newer members who might be hesitant to get involved because they don't think they know enough yet. I’ve really valued being part of the team this year, and I’d love to keep that going by making sure Quant Soc stays a place where we actually enjoy hanging out and feel a sense of community.
