Public Affairs and Social Service Society: Welfare Officer and Vice-President

Hello! I’m Zada, a Year 1 Pharmacy student. After spending five years studying in the UK, I often felt disconnected from Hong Kong. Joining UCLPASS changed that feeling in me. In just a few months, I’ve found a community that helped me reconnect with my roots and feel genuinely at home. I’ve met great friends and gained valuable experiences organising, hosting and participating in external events. Because UCLPASS has given me such a strong sense of belonging, I’m motivated to give back. I want to help the society grow into an even more welcoming and supportive “home away from home” for both current and future members.

My first year in UCL was shaped by the internal and external events I joined at UCLPASS. They made my experience richer, more enjoyable and filled with meaningful connections. Now, I want to take this oppotunity and give the same unforgettable experience to future freshers and help them find their home here just as I did. The Vice President plays a crucial role in coordinating internal operations, refining details, and ensuring a warm, supportive environment for all members. Through the roles I’ve taken on throughout high school and university, I’ve developed strong communication, empathy, and teamwork skills which are all qualities that allow me to listen, understand, and bring people together. As Vice President, I will use these strengths to build a welcoming, supportive environment where every member feels valued, included, and heard.
