Public Affairs and Social Service Society: Secretary

Hi, I am Jasmine, a first-year Psychology student. Coming from Hong Kong and having studied in both a UK boarding school and a local state school, I understand what it feels like to navigate different systems and identities. UCLPASS gave me the chance to try something new, connect with people who share similar roots, and feel a real sense of belonging at UCL. Therefore, I hope to give back by supporting the society from within. I enjoy structuring ideas and providing the behind-the-scenes support that allows a team to work cohesively. My aim is to ensure operations run smoothly to facilitate the work of others, and I hope to contribute to an environment that feels like home, both internally for our committee and externally for every member of UCLPASS.

I am standing for the Secretary position because I want to contribute to PASS, which has played an important role in supporting Hong Kong/Macau students socially. As a current subcommittee member myself, PASS always felt to me as a second home, where Hong Kong/Macau students come together to organise and participate in meaningful events. This experience allowed me to work closely with the committee in organising our flagship event "Amazing Raise", which helped me develop strong organisational and communication skills. As Secretary, I would aim to draw up clear schedules and plans for future events and bridge the communication between the committee and members of the society so that everyone stays informed and engaged. I believe my organisational skills and attention to detail would allow me to support the committee in delivering fun yet impactful activities while helping PASS continue to grow as a supportive community for students.
