Election post

Elected

I am standing for President because I want to help build a Psychology and Language Sciences community that is not only academically inspiring, but also genuinely supportive and engaging for students.

Over the past year, I have been actively involved in organising events as Social Events Officer at PALS Society, helping to run major social and academic events, including Freshers’ activities and the Spring Ball. Through this experience, I have seen how impactful well-organised events can be in bringing students together and creating a strong sense of community. Working closely with the committee has also given me a clear understanding of how the society operates and what members value most.

Alongside this, I serve as a Student Ambassador for the British Psychological Society, helping promote psychology initiatives and connect students across universities. My interest in building supportive communities in psychology began earlier when I founded Heartbreak Vaccine, a peer mentoring programme that supported students’ psychological wellbeing.

If elected, I hope to build on the strong foundations already established in PALS by continuing successful events such as socials, career talks, and society balls, while also expanding collaborations with psychology societies at other universities through networking and joint events.

With my experience in organising events, leading teams, and building student communities, I would love the opportunity to help the society continue to grow.
