I am standing for President because I want to help build a Psychology and Language Sciences community that is not only academically inspiring, but also genuinely supportive and engaging for students.
Over the past year, I have been actively involved in organising events as Social Events Officer at PALS Society, helping to run major social and academic events, including Freshers’ activities and the Spring Ball. Through this experience, I have seen how impactful well-organised events can be in bringing students together and creating a strong sense of community. Working closely with the committee has also given me a clear understanding of how the society operates and what members value most.
Alongside this, I serve as a Student Ambassador for the British Psychological Society, helping promote psychology initiatives and connect students across universities. My interest in building supportive communities in psychology began earlier when I founded Heartbreak Vaccine, a peer mentoring programme that supported students’ psychological wellbeing.
If elected, I hope to build on the strong foundations already established in PALS by continuing successful events such as socials, career talks, and society balls, while also expanding collaborations with psychology societies at other universities through networking and joint events.
With my experience in organising events, leading teams, and building student communities, I would love the opportunity to help the society continue to grow.
Hello, I’m Natalie, a 2nd Year BSc Psychology student and former President of the Behavioural Innovations Society (BIS), running to be your PALS President. My leadership at BIS wasn’t just about holding a title; I drove faculty-wide initiatives like the first-ever PALS Spring Ball, brought together students from across the university for events such as the Nudgeathon and Careers Fair, and delivered hands-on projects, seminars, workshops, and socials that made a real impact on campus.
My time leading BIS sharpened my ability to turn big ideas into reality, unite teams behind a common purpose, and forge partnerships that last. I bring proven experience and a powerful inter-university network, connecting students from all backgrounds to valuable opportunities. As PALS President, I’ll lead with energy, vision, and a commitment to building a team that delivers lasting change.
My priorities as President: amplify collaboration across societies and universities, build a stronger, more connected faculty community, and create real-world, CV-boosting experiences—like case competitions, and career-focused initiatives—for psychology and brain sciences students.
I’m ready to bring my drive, experience, and clear vision to the role of President. Let’s make the PALS community stronger, together.
