The UCL Psychology & Language Sciences Society (PALS) is a departmental society for all students in the Division of Psychology and Language Sciences — and anyone with an interest in understanding people! We’re here to create a welcoming community that balances the academic with the social, bringing together curious minds from across UCL.

Here’s what we have lined up for you this year:

Guest Lectures & Panels – Learn from world-leading psychologists, neuroscientists, and behavioural scientists as they share the latest insights into how we think, feel, and communicate. From cutting-edge brain research to psychology in everyday life, you’ll gain perspectives that expand far beyond your lectures.

Networking, Career Events – Curious about clinical training, research pathways, or careers in applied psychology and beyond? Our panels and workshops connect you with professionals and alumni who’ve turned their passion for psychology into impactful careers. Get insider advice, improve your skills, and discover the many futures open to psychology students.

Socials & Mixers – From themed pub quizzes and cosy mixers to large-scale socials, our events are designed to bring psychology students together. Meet people who share your interests, take a break from coursework, and make lasting friendships within the department.

We’re here to support you, broaden your understanding of psychology, and open doors to opportunities that enrich both your academic and personal journey — all while creating a strong, welcoming community at UCL.

Why join? For just £5, you’ll gain access to a year of exciting events, invaluable connections, and a community that makes studying psychology at UCL even more rewarding.

Don’t miss out — sign up and join the PALS Society and make this year one to remember!

End-of-year Cupcake Decorating Social!!
05/12/2025 | 16:30 - 18:00

Need a cognitive break? Join us for an afternoon of tactile creativity and immediate rewards (eating the results).

We are hosting a laid-back cupcake decorating session to mark the end of the year. Think of it as tasty art therapy: a chance to disconnect from research and coursework, engage your motor cortex, and enjoy some social bonding. We’ll handle the baking; you handle the aesthetics.
