Hi, I’m Sadiyah, a Psychology with Education student!
I want to be the Psychology with Education society’s welfare officer because I understand how university can be a very exciting part of our lives, but also an overwhelming and at times isolating one too. As your welfare officer, I want to make sure that no member in our Psychology with Education society ever feels like they are navigating life at UCL alone.
As a UCL Access and Widening Participation Student Ambassador and Careers Extra Champion, I support students from underrepresented backgrounds. These experiences have taught me about the diverse student body at UCL and of the unique challenges that each student may be facing. As a welfare officer, I will ask, listen, and act upon your individual needs.
I am someone who genuinely cares about the wellbeing of my peers. I believe that feeling like you’re part of a community is essential for our mental health. Previously, at my college, I co-founded the Female Empowerment Group where I created a space for young women to feel valued and represented. I want to bring that same energy to our society. In doing so, I hope to create an environment where every single member, regardless of their gender or background, feels like they belong.
Most importantly, I want to get to know all of you and build new friendships! I want to hear what matters to you and understand what you need more of. Vote for me and hopefully we can all make the most of our university experience together!
