Jamie King

Hi everyone, I’m Jamie! For those of you I haven’t met yet (or edited for!), I’m a second-year English student, a Pi member since Freshers Week, and currently both Online Editor and Society Treasurer.

Through my work on the committee, I have been able to secure hundreds of pounds worth of new equipment for PiTV, funded the production of the new Pi Newspaper, facilitated external speaker events with career journalists, budgeted and executed new in-person socials, recruited two new social media officers, all while editing articles for Pi Online and contributing my own pieces to the website and our magazine. If elected President, I would love to continue this work by:

- Creating a consistent programme of society socials (so that our interactions aren’t just limited to emails…)

- Continuing the transition to in-person editorial sessions, supplementing these with writing workshops and competitions

Bringing our best Pi Online articles into print through a collaboration with Pi Magazine

Grow our readership and online presence through a rebrand and marketing campaign

-  Expand the operations of PiTV to ensure a constant flow of content

Joining Pi has broadened my university experience, honed my writing skills, and introduced me to some of my closest friends, and it would be incredible to help others benefit in the same way as President. We’re so lucky to have such a talented community of student journalists, and it would be an honour to have your vote!

- Jamie :)
