Nordic Society: Communications Manager

Hej!

I am standing for Communications Manager at the Nordic Society to become more actively involved in the community!

I have over six months of volunteering experience working at the Swedish Church, where my communication skills with a wide range of individuals have developed. A highlight was meeting the Swedish ambassador at an event in which my services to the community through volunteering at the Christmas Fair, as well as cultural events such as Sankta Lucia, were recognised. It highlights my ability to liaise with and represent organisations, a skill that requires a level of professionalism and attention to detail, which I believe makes me suitable for this role. 

Given my Nordic roots, one of my aims in this position is to increase visibility surrounding Nordic culture to a wider audience, utilising my strong creative skills on Instagram and Canva to produce eye-catching posts on the social media platforms. Through social media, I aim to help fellow Nordic people find their community here in London through society-run events. Furthermore, I want to help other students (including myself) explore other Nordic institutions and what they have to offer.

Overall, as Nordic Society Communications Manager, through active participation in society projects and events, I would bring my outgoing and dedicated personality, as well as my organisational and communication skills to the table, to ensure the continuation of Nordic society’s success for the upcoming year.
