I’m standing for Treasurer because I want to keep our finances accurate, transparent, and well managed so members can focus on netball and having fun.
I'm reliable with a strong attention to detail and would apply this to overseeing the club’s income and expenditure. Having successfully run a profitable Young Enterprise scheme at school, I have demonstrated the organisational and teamwork skills required to act as Treasurer of the club and be a valuable member of the committee. I want members and the committee to feel confident about where our money goes, so I would keep accurate records and share updates throughout the year.
On the practical side, I would collect membership payments on a timely basis to allow for accurate planning and budgeting. I would also make sure that key payments, such as courts, coaching and match costs are made on time to ensure the smooth running of the club. I would also ensure reimbursements are processed efficiently and consistently.
I am keen to secure additional funding to support the club. I would work with our existing sponsors to ensure we continue to receive their funding, while also seeking opportunities for additional sponsorship and grants.
Any extra money after having covered the necessary costs can go towards social events and inclusive netball matches, ideally giving all members, regardless of playing standard, a great return on membership fees.
I want to take care of the finances so all members can enjoy being part of this great club.
I’m standing for Treasurer because of my background in Economics and genuine love for anything numbers-related (I mean, I did sign up for three years of it). As Treasurer, I want to take the maths stress out of being part of the club. Using my experience in analysis and organisation, I’ll oversee all incomes and spending, authorise payments, and make sure court fees, coaching payments, reimbursements, and memberships are handled smoothly and on time.
I’m proactive with communication, so I’ll stay on top of SU deadlines, training, and emails, keeping everything clear between the club, the Union, and sponsors. I’m always happy to take responsibility and support the committee wherever needed. I think it’s very important for the treasurer to secure sponsorships, draft contracts, and apply for grants to help the club grow.
Having captained netball teams before, I am very confident in taking a leading role in discussions while making sure we all genuinely have fun at games and socials (I am a Scala warrior, after all). I’ll bring reliability, enthusiasm, and a genuine commitment to supporting the President and helping run club events and activities smoothly.
Thank you for your votes!
I am standing for Netball Club Treasurer because I want to ensure that every financial aspect of the club is organised and efficiently managed throughout the year. I am fully committed to helping the club run smoothly through organising membership fees, kit orders, sponsorship income, socials, and tours.
As a highly organised, detail-oriented Economics student, I am confident in managing budgets and spreadsheets. I would keep clear and accurate records of all income and expenditure, ensuring payments are tracked carefully and deadlines are communicated well in advance.
For example, with kit I would ensure orders and payments are coordinated efficiently, and that timelines are managed carefully to avoid confusion or delays. For socials and tour, I would work closely with the Social Secretary, Welfare Officer, and Volunteering and Charity Secretaries to ensure events and initiatives are clearly budgeted and financially organised. By maintaining open communication with the committee and carefully managing the club’s private account, I would ensure all finances remain transparent and accurate.
It is also important that sponsorship funds are managed responsibly and used effectively to benefit members, so I would ensure any sponsorship income is clearly recorded and appropriately allocated towards the club’s priorities.
Overall, I am committed to ensuring the club’s finances run smoothly so that UCNC can continue to succeed and provide the best possible experience for its members.
UCL social netball has been the main contributor to me having the positive experience since September. I’ve made nealy all my close friends through netball and have found it be such a welcoming and fun environment. From my very first Scala with the club all my freshers nerves instantly vanished. It is due to my amazing experience that I now want to give back to the club and I think the position of treasurer would be the best place for me to do this.
I think I would be suited to the position of treasurer as I have always been the friend that organises everything and keeping track of budgets goes hand in hand with this. Although some may think the idea of budgeting and finances is boring, for me I get real pleasure of making the most of every penny and keeping the balance between being too frugal or too lavish. Additionally, I took Economics A-level which I really enjoyed and as I do a humanities degree I have really missed working with numbers and graphs so being able to take on this position truly excites me.
As a Business and Health student who wants to go into banking, I naturally gravitated towards Treasurer because it aligns with my academic interests and professional ambitions. That being said, I am genuinely determined to learn about the financial side of running a society, especially one that means so much to me. The role directly aligns with my strengths in organisation, accountability, and communication through my role as Executive Director for an international NGO. In that role, I led a team of 400 members and managed a budget of £8,713, ultimately driving fundraising efforts that generated more than £55,194.54. From overseeing income and authorising expenditure to securing sponsorships, I want to ensure that UCL Netball is financially secure, professionally run, and fully supported to grow and succeed.
Despite having played Netball for almost my entire life, I have never experienced a community like UCL Netball. From the moment I trialled for the first time, I felt so welcomed by everyone. I fully believe that my entire 1st year experience would have been completely different for the worse if it was not for netball. Whether it's the friendships that I made along the way or the 2 hour travel days to our games, I could not be more grateful. This is my main motivation- giving back to our community.
