Over the past year I have been 5s captain and development sec and I have loved being involved with the netball club. After having such a fun first year being a silly fresh, I did not think that I could have any more fun within netball. I was wrong. This year being development secretary and 5s captain has allowed me to meet so many new lovely people and have even more fun than last year! A real highlight of being a team captain is being able to run our Instagram (@flirty_fives) and I think this has really prepared me for a role in the PR of the whole club. We even had one of our post match TikTok's go viral, and this is something I would really like to do more of by increasing the activity of the UCL netball TikTok account. On top of this, I am very used to replying to many different messages from both the social players and my own team members so I would be good at managing and organising the Instagram private messages. UCL netball is such an amazing society and it has brought me so much joy, I would love to help more and more people see how great this club is as well as how kind, fun and amazing every single club member is.

I value UCNC so highly, as it given me some of my closest friends at UCL and for that I will be forever grateful! I would love the opportunity to give back by contributing as PR Secretary. The prospect of increasing outreach to prospective students and encouraging new members to join such a welcoming and supportive club is so exciting. I consider myself very organised and would be very well suitable to responding to messages, creating posts regularly and providing needed updates. My screen time and well curated Instagram proves I am perfect for this role! Not only this, but as a very active social member (who never misses a Wednesday) I would love to support the planning and promotion of events, ensuring they are well-attended and reflective of the vibrant, inclusive community that UCNC represents.

Overall, I am passionate about UCNC and would be dedicated to helping it continue to thrive!

I would love to become PR Secretary because I have a genuine passion for photography and creative design. I enjoy capturing moments and presenting them in a way that feels unique and eye-catching. At socials and events, I’m always running around with my Canon G7X, encouraging people to get involved and experimenting with angles and shots to capture the memories we make at UCNC.

I’d also love to refresh our Instagram by introducing cohesive fonts, colours and templates so the page looks consistent and easy on the eye. I want to post more team sheets and celebrate our achievements, from match wins to player appreciation posts for key milestones, so the wider UCNC community can celebrate together.

I’m confident using Canva and other editing tools to create graphics for posts and physical posters. I’d build inspiration boards, trial a few sample layouts, and actively take feedback (e.g., quick polls) to choose what members like best. I also enjoy tracking engagement to see what performs well and apply that to future content, this could be measures such as like count, number of views and seeing what worked well and what didn't for future research.

Overall, I would bring creativity, enthusiasm and a strong commitment to showcasing UCNC and sharing our spirit to the rest of our community, while having a collaborative approach with other committee members and including their ideas amongst mine.

Seeing the “more than just a club” post shaped my entire perception of what netball at UCL could be. It is community, sisterhood and belonging. I am standing because I want to emanate this sentiment, especially for our incoming freshers. I want them to see how netball at UCL is a home away from home, and I want our PR to reflect that to inspire excitement and involvement.

I am qualified for this role through both creativity and leadership experience. As the Class of 2025 social media manager, I created reels and university decision posts, reaching over 138,000 views in total. As Executive Director of an NGO, I led communications and branding strategy for a 400-member team, managing stakeholder engagement and promotional campaigns. Furthermore, I helped co-create a website for the Newsletter Club in secondary school.

As PR Secretary, I have numerous visions for this upcoming year. I aim to increase match-day visibility by liaising the gaps between every team’s individual instagrams through having summary posts and team takeovers every week. Moreover, I aim to organise media days for competitive teams to build excitement for the season and create professional content. Additionally, I hope to expand alumni engagement through alumni spotlights, alumni match days and nostalgic content. If elected, I will work to ensure that UCL Netball’s voice reflects our community both on and off the court to continue building the community that has already given me so much.
