Henry Drake

Hi, I'm Henry, and I'd like to be UCL Musical Theatre Society's next Social Secretary!

I'm standing for this role because, having spent a concerning majority of my time over my first year at UCL around theatre people and doing MT stuff in general, the social side of MT soc is incredibly important to me. I've met a vast number of amazing people and incredible friends through the society, and it would be an honour to lead MT's social side next year.

Furthermore, I would love to have a place on the Musical Theatre Society's committee. As someone who is often around in theatre socials, and knowing a lot of members of the society (and hopefully even more next year!) I think I would be a great representative on the committee in the interests of our members.

I would be keen to get to know as many members of the society as I can so that I can be a recognisable and friendly face in the role of social secretary. I also would love to continue the great social events the society currently offers, as well as to think about some new ideas which could offer even more opportunities for members to meet each other and have fun, whatever their interests.

Above all, I'd like to make sure that members of MT society have the best and most welcoming social community possible, as our friends and community that we meet through society are, as I have experienced, so very important in helping us get through uni and to have fun doing it.

Charlie Raven

Hey there! I’m Charlie, a 2nd History and Politics of the Americas student, but you might know me from Sister Act or LSoH! Having performed, prodded, and watched various shows since my first term at uni, I really want to now step onto committee as Social Sec!

If elected onto committee, I would love to work on improving our society’s social side by:

  1. Making socials more accessible for all our members in terms of locations, types of activities, and levels of affordability
  2. Running more collaborative socials with other societies to keep ideas fresh and to introduce new people to MT
  3. Trying to increase the number of socials to allow for more regular participation in the society
