Hi! 👋 My name is Jake Bradbury and I am running to be your Head of Productions for next year! 😁
For those of you who may not already know me, I am currently on my year abroad in snowy Sweden ❄️ but I have been very involved with Musical Theatre Society my whole time at UCL. I believe all of this experience will be very helpful if you elect me as your Head of Productions! My experience includes:
🫶 UCLMT Welfare Officer 24/25 (Yes I have been on the MT committee before!)
👾 Director of a Bloomsbury Studio show (Be More Chill)
🎠 3 Bloomsbury theatre productions (Chess, The Producers, Carousel)
🥀 2 Small show productions (Beauty and the Beast, Little Shop of Horrors)
🎤 5+ Galas/Concerts/Showcases
During my time in my role as Welfare officer 24/25 🫶, there was no head of productions role, so I put significant effort into managing both welfare and logistics of productions, creating the guidelines for the cross casting process which provides more opportunities to UCLMT members. This, and my experiences as both cast and prod across many shows, has given me an intimate understanding of how ArtsUCL operates and what is needed to keep a production running smoothly 🎭.
If you were to elect me as your head of productions, I would aim to:
🔦 Streamline the bidding process and make it easier to put on a production
🙌 Ensure that casting continues to be fair and inclusive
🤸 Maximise the amount of opportunities for all to be involved
Thank you so much for reading!
Jake :))
Hi everyone, I’m Gabi – I’ve done prod on several shows and have been part of Stage Crew for many more. Even before this, I’ve done theatre and arts one way or another my whole life. At this point, I eat, sleep, and breathe UCL theatre!
Through a combination of working in Stage Management and on production teams, I’ve gained a strong insight into how to run a show, and I’d love to introduce this experience to MT society. From tech, feasibility, storage, prod weeks, budgets and more, I’ve seen a lot.
As head of productions, I’d like to give weight to smaller shows (studios/externals). More than just a great learning environment, they also produce some of UCL’s best work as what shows use what spaces is not just shaped by how “good” or “worthy” a show is. It can feel like some shows are “downgraded” to the studio theatre or external spaces just because they have smaller cast sizes or lesser production needs. I will continue to provide and extend support to smaller shows, whilst maintaining the standard for support in the Bloomsbury theatre.
