Rivi Cohen

My name is Rivi, and I'm super excited to be applying to the position of Welfare Officer for MODO Fashion Society! I joined MODO right at the beginning of the year (when I joined UCL!) and have loved everything I've participated in with the society throughout the year. I've participated in MODO's socials and workshops, and contributed to both issues of MODO Mag this year, and all of these things have helped me understand the society and developed my love for both MODO and fashion as a whole!

As I have loved my time with the society so much, I would really like to be able to give back and to play a bigger role within MODO. I think I would suit the position of Welfare Officer because I'm a very smiley and friendly person, and I want everyone to feel welcome within the society. I also am a strong communicator, as demonstrated by my previous experiences leading teams such as in my sixth form’s sustainable fashion show, which I led the organisation of. I would be very happy to regularly check in on the members of the MODO Fashion Society and ensure that everyone is doing well, and be a friendly face whom people can feel comfortable with. If anyone is struggling with anything within the society, such as their workload, I would love to be there to offer support.

I am confident that I am a strong candidate for the position of Welfare Officer, and I hope you vote for me!! Thank you :))

Being part of the fashion industry is something I am truly passionate about, but I also understand how overwhelming it can be. Behind the creativity, there is often pressure, high expectations, and the constant feeling that you need to be perfect. I know that for many people, this can feel stressful and sometimes even isolating. Fashion is one of the most exciting and rewarding industries to be part of. Whether it’s modelling, designing, photography, makeup, hair, or any other creative path, it brings together so many talented individuals with big dreams. But with those dreams can come self-doubt, comparison, and pressure to always be at your best.

Supporting others is something I genuinely care about. Being able to help create a more inclusive, understanding, and supportive environment while building a community where well-being is just as important as success. No matter the dream or goal, what matters most to me is making sure that no one feels alone in that process. I hope to be your next Welfare Officer, not just as a role, but as someone you can truly rely on.
