MODO Fashion Society: Treasurer

Hi everyone! I'm Lauren, MODO's current Vice President.

After a year of working closely with our community, I'm excited to take on a new challenge and stand for Treasurer.

In my time as Vice President, I have been overseeing and assisting with various society operations, e.g. managing our social media, coordinating events, and building relationships with potential sponsors. This breadth of experience has given me a deep understanding of how MODO operates, and the financial decisions that keep us running.

As your Treasurer, I'll bring that same dedication to managing our budget with transparency and care. I will maintain a clear and open dialogue with the SU to ensure every process runs smoothly and our funds are used where they matter most, to create great experiences for all of you. My background as an academic Head Rep has also honed my ability to navigate institutional processes and advocate effectively on behalf of a team.

I'm eager to continue to contribute and serve the MODO community as your Treasurer next year :)

I am standing for Treasurer of the UCL Fashion Society because I recognise how important the responsible allocation of funds is for the society’s growth, for delivering high-quality events such as the yearly fashion show, and most importantly, for its members.

Seeing the society’s events this year, including the Winter Gala, designer workshops, and the upcoming annual fashion show, has shown me how valuable the UCL Fashion Society is in creating opportunities for students to engage with fashion, creativity, and industry professionals. It has been amazing to see the wide range of clothing designs and the creativity showcased by members, as well as the collaborative environment the society fosters.

These events highlight how important the society is in bringing together students who love fashion, while also providing opportunities to develop skills, gain inspiration, and connect with others with the same passion.

As Treasurer, I will prioritise supporting engaging events that continue to showcase members’ creativity and provide valuable opportunities for collaboration and networking, while maintaining transparent budgeting so the society can grow sustainably. Through previous voluntary work and participation in the 2025 Fashion show, I have developed the responsibility, reliability, and proactive approach necessary to perform this role effectively. I am committed to helping the society continue delivering opportunities that inspire and benefit all members.
