MODO Fashion Society: Head of Designs

Hi everyone!

I’m Zon, a second-year Statistics student, and I’m running to be MODO’s Head of Design!

Over the past two years I’ve had the chance to design for the annual MODO fashion show, and it’s been one of the most rewarding creative experiences I’ve had at UCL. Going through the full process twice, from developing concepts to seeing the final looks on the runway, has given me a really good understanding of how the show works and what designers need throughout the process.

Because of that experience, I’d love to step into the role of Head of Design and help guide the next group of designers. Designing for a show can be incredibly exciting, but it can also be overwhelming at times, especially if it’s someone’s first time doing something like this. I want to make sure designers feel supported, organised, and confident in bringing their ideas to life.

As Head of Design, I’d focus on helping designers develop strong concepts early on, keeping communication clear throughout the design process, and making sure everyone stays on track leading up to the show. Having been through the process twice myself, I understand the challenges that come with deadlines, fittings, and production, and I think that perspective will help me support the team effectively.

MODO already has such a strong and talented creative community, and I’d be excited to help support designers as they experiment, develop their ideas, and grow through the process.
