MMA and stuff
Having been an active member of UCLMMA for the past two years, I have had the privilege of training alongside many incredible people in this society. Both on and off the mat I have seen what makes our club unique: our work ethic, resilience, and support network. Serving as Social Secretary this year has allowed me to contribute to the community we have built, and as your Vice President I want to build on that foundation, focusing on three key goals:
- I want to host another Fight Night. After successfully planning one this year, we now understand the logistics, including what worked, what didn’t, which suppliers to trust, and how to manage paperwork efficiently. With that experience, we can deliver a bigger event and invite other societies such as BJJ, Muay Thai, or Kickboxing to create a true MMA showcase.
- I want to plan more cross-club socials. These were a big hit and strengthened our bonds outside of training. I look forward to building more connections across TeamUCL next year.
-
I want to introduce more beginner-friendly sessions at the start of the year, while maintaining at least two high-level sessions per week for committed fighters. This will make the club more welcoming without compromising our fight team. I would also like to bring Hari back as a coach for these sessions, given his wealth of experience and dedication to cornering our fighters this year.
As your Vice President, I will ensure UCLMMA continues to grow stronger, more inclusive, and more ambitious than ever.
Cool innit
