MedTech Society: Technology Officer

I want to become Technology Officer as I have an avid interest in the intersection of technology with healthcare and its numerous amazing transformative capabilities. With the rise of AI and the rapid advancements of technology it is more prevalent than ever to understand the importance of technology within healthcare! Attending workshops run by the MedTech society such as the MATLAB coding workshop and the Med Tech for all conference motivated me to apply for this position to learn more myself and help others better understand this key part of healthcare. I think it is so important as medical professionals whether you are studying medicine or any other medical/healthcare related degree to better understand the role of technology and how you can harness that and how you can potentially get involved yourself in using or even making these technologies. I intend to bridge this gap as technology officer and run more events and hopefully bring in more speakers and companies to help fulfil this promise. I unfortunately was unable to attend the Technology in Healthcare conference however saw the immense value in such an event and something I would wish to emulate and hopefully strengthen if chosen for this role. My experience as Head Boy in 6th Form, hosting the RUMS ISOC humanitarian conference and being part of the Ramadan Team setting up meals for 300 plus students give me the logistical, communication and organisational skills to be successful in this role.
