As a Medical Science student who has personally benefited from MedTech Society’s events, I have witnessed the real impact that high-quality conferences and networking opportunities can have on students exploring their academic and professional paths. This experience made me recognise that such impact relies not only on organisation, but also on strong external support and sustainable funding.
I am standing for Sponsorship Executive because I believe building strategic partnerships is essential to the society’s long-term growth. It is important to clearly communicate the value that the society can offer to corporate partners. I am particularly interested in contributing to the development of structured sponsorship proposals and maintaining professional relationships with partners. My experience in marketing strategy and involvement in a non-profit organisation have equipped me with skills in structured communication, stakeholder engagement, and collaborative teamwork. I am comfortable with professional outreach and enjoy problem-solving in outcome-driven contexts. I believe these skills would enable me to support effective sponsor engagement and contribute to strengthening the society’s corporate partnerships.
I’m Chelsie Chen, a Year 2 Cancer Biomedicine student, and I’m running for Sponsorship Executive for the MedTech Society.
I’m currently the Outreach & Operations Officer at LSF, where I’ve gained experience reaching out to industry professionals, VCs, and startup founders to build partnerships and opportunities for students 🤝🚀
I understand how competitive industries like life science consulting, big pharma, medtech, and research can be, because I’m navigating this path myself. Because of this, I’m passionate about helping students access industry exposure, networking opportunities, and real-world insights 🔬💼
If elected, I’ll work hard to secure more sponsors and build strong partnerships with companies, creating opportunities for events, collaborations, and industry engagement so UCL students can gain the most impactful experience possible and maybe even make our neighbours at Imperial a little jealous 😉💼✨
Thank you so much for your support! 🙌
