Hey, I’m Helen!
This has been another year of growth for UCL MedTech. Our conferences have been the biggest yet, and as Mentorship Chair, I helped lead our largest programme ever: expanding our mentor pool by 67% and building smaller, high-engagement groups for genuine connections. Starting from the Mentorship Programme, UCL MedTech is the first society that truly shaped my university journey, and that's what drives me to give back.
UCL MedTech's greatest asset is our people: students, alumni, clinicians, founders, and investors united by a shared curiosity and a drive to make a difference. After a year at Imperial Business School, I've returned with an even stronger appreciation of how rare and powerful our ecosystem is.
Next year, I want to put our community front and centre: from listening to more doing. MedTech moves fast, and we learn best by applying ourselves. As President, I want to introduce more hands-on opportunities: hackathons tackling real clinical problems, pitch competitions with investor feedback, and stronger practical links to industry. I also want to better celebrate our members by showcasing student projects, amplifying alumni journeys, and strengthening peer-to-peer learning.
Most importantly, I want UCL MedTech to be ambitious but accessible: a place where anyone, regardless of background, can take their first steps. The best solutions in MedTech come from diverse minds. Let's build that community, and take the next step together.
My name is Udaiveer, your friendly neighbourhood med student, and I'm running for President of MedTech Society.
Experience:
I have chaired the Technology in Healthcare Conference subcommittee. I am also President of UCL Anatomy Society, with experience coordinating committees, budgets, and partners. I have experience in startup acceleration, sponsorship, and outreach, and I am comfortable securing speakers, sponsors, and opportunities for members.
Priorities if elected:
- Continuity, delivered better: We will continue last year’s core pillars: Technology in Healthcare and Diversity and Inclusion in MedTech Conferences, the mentorship programme, the MedTech Portal, coding workshops, talks, and networking. Our conferences will keep their structure of talks, panels, fairs, and device workshops, with earlier planning and clearer follow-through.
- Strong leadership and planning: Publish a term roadmap, define committee responsibilities, and share transparent updates so members know what is happening and how to get involved.
- Mentorship that feels personal: More in-person touchpoints, structured goal-setting, and feedback so mentoring translates into outcomes.
- Practical pathways into MedTech: Build sessions, project teams, hackathons and makeathons, plus cross-society collaborations, so members leave with skills, a portfolio, and strong CV evidence.
Vote for continuity with high standards, and leadership that delivers.
Kind regards,
Udaiveer
Hello Everyone!
I’m Jane, and I’m excited to be running for the President position for 26/27!
Briefly about me:
- I’m a 3rd year medic intercalating in Medical Physics
- This year I am your Medtech Marketing officer!
- I have experience in different roles in 4 different committees
My aims:
- continue the legacy of Medtech :)
- introduce Medtech alumni events
- strengthen the existing connections with society partners and nurture new ones
- help committee members get training and personal development opportunities to help them excel in their roles
- organise more non-formal events for members to connect
In general, I consider the main objective of a President to be allowing committee members to utilise their full potential and explore new ideas, free from judgment and with full support. That is why, on top of maintaining the regular duties of a President, including time planning and fuuuun paperwork, I want to change the way communication happens within the team. I aim to move from the ‘new year, same plan’ framework while retaining the flagship events that make Medtech Society so unique and important to many of us.
Looking forward to another great year with Medtech, and it would be an honour to continue this journey as your President.
See you around!
