Mahjong Society: Publicity Officer

I am standing for the role of Publicity Officer for the Mahjong Society because I am passionate about creative communication and sharing the joy of Mahjong with everyone at UCL. Having started playing both Hong Kong Style and Taiwanese Style mahjong at the age of 10, I believe that Mahjong is not only a game, but also a social and cultural experience. Through this role, I hope to spread my passion for Mahjong through engaging and creative social media content.

With experience in creating social media posts and producing content across various social media platforms. I am organised and creative in promoting events effectively. I understand how important strong publicity is in attracting new members and maintaining engagement within the society.

If selected, I would focus on:

• Designing eye-catching graphics and posts for regular sessions, especially during collaboration events
• Highlighting the different activities and opportunities associated with the Mahjong society
• Curating Instagram stories that capture memorable moments from our sessions

With my organisational skills, reliability and confidence in using design tools (e.g. Canva, Instagram, Photoshop), I believe I would be a strong candidate for the role of Publicity Officer.
