Will Himmer

This year, being part of committee has given me a real understanding of what keeps our society running – and where things break down. From my first day at uni, I have felt at home in this society, and I’m committed to supporting the society so it can run at its best. I know what works, what doesn’t, and where our money needs to be dedicated. We’ve all had enough of broken and faulty equipment. Within committee as your Events Officer I’ve already spent hours ensuring equipment is checked and organised, I know first-hand how frustrating unreliable equipment can be.

I can promise:

  • Priority number 1 – you deserve better and more reliable equipment in SPR and in events. Funding should be proportionally allocated to make that happen.
  • Work to bring a Bluetooth system in the SPR to help your rehearsals
  • Use funds to make events and socials more accessible – let me maximise our budget to provide more free stuff, food and drink

Live music has given me so much this year, and I’m already invested in maximising what this society can offer. I’m prepared to treat our finances with attention to detail, transparency, and dedication. Help me make sure every penny genuinely improves your experience in this society.

Hellooo!! My name is Athena and I am running to be your '26-27 Live Music Treasurer :)))

Goals as treasurer:

  • Offer better support for LM production teams --> Improve communication between the committee and production teams regarding spending procedures, reimbursement timelines, and guidance on budget allocation.
  • Allocate emergency funds for SPR/gig equipment repairs --> having accessible contingency funding to resolve issues quickly without compromising the quality of our events or shows. 
  • Continue supporting LM administratively & ensure everything runs smoothly <3

Suitability for position:

  • Experience on LM Committee (Tech Officer) --> I am familiar with our equipment and can manage related costs effectively;I am also confident with our payment forms, budgeting processes, and overall society structure.
  • Production team for 3x Bloomsbury Theatre/Studio Shows & Company Stage Manager for 2x Bloomsbury Theatre Shows (~13 in a yr!) --> I have a strong understanding of how shows are run within ArtsUCL and am therefore well-equipped to support LM production teams with any management or budget-related issues as they arise.
  • 4 years of organisational and management experience in high school leadership roles.
  • & ofc a passion for music + the desire to help LM flourish <3
  • (I'm pretty good at maths lol)

LM has been an incredible community for me this year, and I’m so grateful for the friendships I’ve made through shows and events, so I hope to help create the same supportive experience for everyone
