Live Music Society: Secretary

Heya! I’m Sally, and I’m running to be your next LM Secretary :)

From joining Extravagabandza as a fresher to playing gigs at Mully’s/Phineas and serving as Treasurer this year, LM has been a huge part of my time at UCL. I’ve met so many talented and kind people here, and it’s a community I really care about.

This year, through my role as Treasurer, I’ve worked very closely with the President and the rest of the committee, which has given me a really good understanding of how the society runs behind the scenes. From coordinating shows and scheduling function band gigs to liaising with ArtsUCL, I’ve helped support the admin and logistics that keep the society running. As Secretary, I’d love to use that experience to help keep things organised, improve communication, and support the committee so everything can run as smoothly as possible.

A few things I’d especially like to help improve:

• SPR!! --> improving scheduling for show rehearsals to reduce last-minute cancellations of SPR bookings. I’d also like to help keep the space in better shape through regular checks and working with tech (and the treasurer) to repair or replace broken equipment
• Clear communication and coordination --> keeping members updated on gigs, rehearsals, and opportunities, while helping the committee stay aligned on plans and timelines.

LM has given me so many great memories, and I’d love the chance to continue contributing to this amazing community in my final year. I’d really appreciate your vote! :)
