Hi everyone! I’m excited to be running for the role of Treasurer for the upcoming year.
Over the past year, I’ve really enjoyed being part of the committee as Publicity Officer, which has given me a good understanding of how the society runs and the work that goes on behind the scenes to organise events and opportunities for our members. Before coming to UCL, I also served as Treasurer in several student societies, where I handled budgets, payments, and the logistics behind large-scale events.
If elected as Treasurer, I’ll focus on making sure that every cent is accounted for, every transaction is clearly documented, and our funds are used wisely. My goal is to make funding and transactions as seamless and transparent as possible, so that we can continue running great events throughout the year!
I’m really passionate about the society and would love the chance to keep contributing next year.
Thank you for reading, and I’d really appreciate your vote!
Hi everyone! I'm Keira, a first year Biomedical Sciences student and aspiring life sciences consultant. I joined Life Sciences Society to bridge innovative students with alumni and industry professionals, for the exploration of diverse career pathways in the life sciences. I'm standing for Treasurer today, as I understand the importance of well-prioritised budget allocations and sponsorship management for organisation of high quality events, allowing the society to grow long-term.
Financial rigour and operational precision are skills I've built across various leadership roles. As founder of two societies in my sophomore year — a 30+ member Biotechnology Society and a 60+ member sustainability initiative — I managed year-long budgets, timelines, and resource allocation across coordinated teams. I secured £600 in funding through a pitch to external sponsors at an HK innovation programme, and managed finances for prototype development. As the winner of the the Imperial College London Enterprise Lab Innovation Challenge, I led and pitched strategic 5-year financial planning for a medical device venture.
I understand that being Treasurer involves more than tracking finances, but the ability to strategise budget allocation and build sponsor relationships to consistently deliver high value, opportunity-filled events for our members; and I bring the analytical, organisational, and communication skills this role demands.
(P.S. I'll allocate budget to good food for socials! :))
