Calling ALL SURVIVORS of the UCL welfare support maze of 2025-2026: as your current Welfare Representative for Societies (I don't get paid enough for this), I can help you achieve exactly what you need!
- Actually accessible welfare, not just a PDF link: I've sat through enough welfare meetings to know that "support" shouldn't mean digging through 47 policy documents. I'll make sure Lamorna members know what's actually available to them, real resources, real people, no jargon. You're allowed to struggle and still show up to paint.
- PROTECT THE PEACE: Lamorna is a mental health break disguised as an art society, and I will die on this hill. New agenda: making sure our sessions stay exactly that a genuine exhale from the chaos of UCL life. No pressure, no performance, just the process.
- Socials that actually bring people together: not a "networking opportunity," not a "cross-disciplinary engagement event", just genuinely good times. More collaboration with other societies, more chances to meet people outside your flat and your seminar group, more memories that aren't library-related.
- A welfare rep who's done the admin so you don't have to: I've navigated the compliance and management side of UCL societies from the inside. I know where the friction is, and I'll use that to protect Lamorna from the bits that drain the joy out of running a society.
I want Lamorna to be the part of your week you actually look forward to - peaceful, creative, and genuinely good for you.
