Olive Yalinkilicli

Hello! My name is Olive, a second year Natural Sciences student. And whilst I am very new to this society, I would love to be a part of your community! I’ve loved the energy of the workshops and the people that make-up the society have been a joy to meet. So, I’m applying for treasurer to help Lamorna succeed from behind the scenes in a way I can contribute.
Since this society runs on the membership fees to fund the workshops, my main priority will be tracking the budget and applying for extra funds from the SU wherever possible. I’m ready to wrestle my way through the SU administrative system to secure as much funding for us as I can, to keep the workshops awesome and to support the president’s and creative director’s visions.
I study Maths and Statistics as a part of my degree so staring at excel is second nature to me. I will keep the budgeting data neat, accurate and legible so the committee know exactly what they have to work with. Allowing the committee to conceive new workshop ideas, new scents, and more workshops.
Thank you very much for your consideration!

Nneka Elumelu

As a first-year Economics student, I am running for Treasurer because I understand the importance of careful budgeting, transparency, and financial planning in helping a society thrive. Through studying Economics, I have developed strong analytical skills and attention to detail, which are essential for managing society finances responsibly. I am comfortable working with numbers, tracking spending, and ensuring funds are allocated efficiently so we can maximise what we offer to members without overspending.

If elected, I would prioritise clear record-keeping, regular financial updates to the committee, and thoughtful budgeting for each term. I would also look for cost-effective suppliers and explore opportunities for sponsorships or collaborations to help expand what our society can do while keeping events affordable. Candle-making is both creative and community-driven, and I want to ensure our finances can support all our fun activities and workshops throughout the year. I am organised, reliable, and committed to helping the society grow responsibly. If you want a Treasurer who is detail-oriented, transparent, and dedicated to supporting creativity in this society, vote for me!
