Lacrosse Club: Welfare Officer

I’m applying to be the lacrosse welfare officer because I genuinely love being someone people feel comfortable coming to, whether it’s for a quick rant after training or a proper heart-to-heart. After training as a counsellor last year, I realised how much it means to me to support people, help them feel heard, and make sure no one ever feels like they’re dealing with things alone. I’m a friendly, chilled-out person, and I think that really helps when someone just needs a calm space or a non-judgmental chat. I’m always down for a conversation—on the pitch, walking between lectures, or even over a coffee when life gets a bit chaotic. Lacrosse is such a tight-knit community, and I’d love to help keep it that way by making sure everyone feels looked after, included, and able to talk openly if something’s on their mind. Whether someone’s stressed, struggling, or just wants to laugh about their day, I’d be there. Being welfare officer feels like the perfect way to combine my love for the team with my passion for supporting people, and I’d be really excited to bring that energy into the role.
