Amaara Wadhwani

Hi everyone, I’m Amaara, and as the self-appointed ultimate finance bro of UCL Lacrosse, it only feels right that I run for Treasurer!

Having once show an interviewer my personal expenses spreadsheet (complete with functioning macros and XLOOKUP) to secure an investment banking offer, I can guarantee I’ll bring the same elite-level organisation to our lacrosse expenses.

Beyond obnoxious finance bro jokes, I take this responsibility with the utmost seriousness. As Treasurer, I will:

  • Keep our finances clear and transparent so everyone knows exactly where their membership fees are going
  • Budget properly for trips, stash, and socials so we never have last-minute financial stress
  • Actively pursue sponsorships so we can keep costs manageable
  • Make sure we spend strategically so lacrosse stays competitive, social and accessible

Having been 2s Captain this year, I understand the pop-up expenses and random chaos our teams face. As Treasurer, I’ll navigate unexpected expenses smoothly, while still protecting a FAT budget for the most pivotal, very serious lacrosse-related training event of the year: Laxmas.

Vote Amaara.

Ayla Kabbani

I am standing for Treasurer of the Lacrosse Society because I want to take on a leadership role that enables me to contribute to the society’s growth. Having captained both my school and club teams, I understand the importance of teamwork, organisation and reliability in helping a club run smoothly.

My experience as Operations Manager at Young Enterprise has provided me with invaluable exposure to budgeting and working in a team to keep projects organised. Working closely with finance, marketing, and sales teams, I helped monitor costs and manage supply chains. This experience has strengthened my ability to work collaboratively while maintaining attention to financial detail. Furthermore, interning at a textile business exposed me to financial management, including organising invoices and observing cash flow. Alongside this, I’ve organised many fundraisers for a primary school in The Gambia which required initiative, planning and clear communication.

As Treasurer, I recognise the responsibility that comes with managing members’ money and would ensure careful budgeting for kit, equipment and events, along with allocation of funds to maximise value for members. I am fully committed to supporting the team and would love the opportunity to contribute to the society’s growth next year.

Thank you for your time and consideration.
