Kendo Club: President

What's up y'all,

As this year of posting questionable videos on both the official and unaffiliated Insta accounts comes to a close, I have decided that now is the time for me to move up, just like my shinai (I'm talking about jodan, not smth else). As such, I am fulfilling my duty as an American and declaring my intent to run for the presidency and enact drastic reforms to make Kendo Club great again (MKCGA). As a pupil of Lok (she makes fun of me), Jamie (I played league with him), and Keane (he also makes fun of me), I have a collective ten years of presidential experience under my belt, a feat few others can claim to have.

Ok silliness aside, I'm running for president because over the last two years, UCL Kendo has given me more than just a sports club; it's given me a community to return to and friends who I really value. Although Keane has left big shoes to fill, I am confident that, drawing on my experience leading student groups and my corporate training (depressing, I know), I can effectively manage the back-office bureaucratic processes with the SU and TeamUCL, as well as the day-to-day affairs that facilitate smooth operations. However, smooth operation is just the beginning, as my understanding of our club culture, gained from being an active committee member, will enable me to uphold not only the club but also the culture I hold so dear. As such, I implore you to vote for me for another worry-free year of making friends by whacking one another with bamboo sticks 🗣️
