K-POP Society: Treasurer

Hey, I'm Kajeeva, a carat and an id who loves learning new dances after every comeback (alongside my love for badminton;)! I am currently in the middle of preparing for blooms and the whole process looks scary (as it's my first time in a showcase this big), but I am genuinely enjoying it. I am so glad that I brought myself into the society through this because I have been a little too scared to attend any of the other events, nor have I been able to snatch a spot at the weekly k-pop dances that I wanted to attend ... possibly because I never check my notifications...). I might not be the greatest choreographer out there (next bada lee or aiki?, yea never!), but I believe I could financially choreograph UCL's K-POP Society to give you guys the best showcases and social events possible! Behind the maths and problem solving, I'll be making sure you guys can focus on the fun!! (I'll also be joining in on the fun too, hehe!)

With over three years' experience in managing financial ventures for a Girlguiding unit, I am standing for Treasurer because I am a highly organised, financially responsible individual, motivated to contribute meaningfully to K-POP Society. Through my experiences, I have developed strong financial skills, including managing reimbursements, overseeing transactions, and making payments for large-scale events. In 2024, I fundraised £3200 for the charity, managing income and expenses that required close attention to detail and accountability, skills I believe make me well-suited for this role in managing society's budgets effectively. 

At UCL, in my roles as Department of Geography Academic Representative and Geographical Society Representative, I have demonstrated persuasive communication and critical thinking skills, responding proactively to challenges to avoid conflict, which I believe are key, transferable skills that make me suitable for this role. Therefore, I feel confident in my abilities to consult with a range of stakeholders, including committee members, sponsors, and the SU finance team, to manage budgets transparently and professionally.  

Overall, I would ensure that society's funds are managed carefully and clearly communicated across the committee to maximise opportunities for society members. I am eager to bring my financial experience, organisational skills, and enthusiasm for K-POP to the table to support the society's continued success.
