Nithish Suresh Kumar

I am standing for the position of Outreach Officer because I want to strengthen the Investment Society’s external presence and ensure members gain meaningful exposure to industry professionals and opportunities. Having actively recruited for investment banking and participated in M&A and investment fund activities at UCL, I understand how valuable direct access to firms, alumni, and speakers can be in shaping members’ confidence and career outcomes.

Through my experience in venture capital and student-led finance initiatives, I have developed the confidence to engage professionally with industry contacts and the persistence required to build relationships from cold outreach. I am comfortable representing the society in conversations with firms and believe outreach should be strategic rather than reactive, targeting organisations that align with members’ interests across investment banking, private equity, asset management, and emerging sectors.

If elected, I would focus on expanding our firm network, improving alumni engagement, and creating structured pipelines that convert outreach into tangible events, partnerships, and long-term relationships. I am motivated, organised, and prepared to take ownership of building connections that directly benefit the society’s members.

I want to bring in more speakers, networking events and insight days at top firms through more effective outreach, and I think there's genuinely a lot of room to improve on what we're currently doing in that space. Better outreach means better connections, and better connections means we can offer members access to opportunities that actually make a difference when it comes to recruitment. That's what I want to focus on and I think it's where I can add the most value as outreach officer.

Sia Rudra

As First Year Representative, I've been actively involved in outreach through the Client Relations team, helping connect with firms for potential events and sponsorship opportunities. I've supported the logistics and organisation of key events, including the Standard Chartered Fireside Chat, as well as social events throughout the year. Being involved behind the scenes has shown me how important strong external relationships are to the success of the society.
Running for Outreach Officer feels like a natural next step. Through studying Economics and being involved in societies such as Asset Management, Hedge Fund, Economist's and Women in Finance, I've built connections across different networks at UCL. I'd love to use these links to strengthen collaborations and expand our reach.
I want to build on our existing partnerships while proactively seeking new firms, alumni and cross-society opportunities, ensuring UCLIS continues to provide high-quality and diverse opportunities for all members.

Christina Liu

Hi, I’m Christina, a first-year Geography and Economics student at UCL. I enjoy trying new things, from horse riding and boxing to learning guitar, because curiosity helps me grow. In high school, I was President of the Economics Society, the largest academic society in my school, where I organised weekly sessions, led discussions on economic topics, and connected students with one another and external speakers. That experience taught me how impactful effective outreach can be in helping students feel included and excited to participate.

I am running for Outreach Officer because the UCL Investment Society bridges theory and real-world experience through panels, workshops, mentorship, the real-money investment fund, and career-focused events that build practical skills and confidence. I want to help make these opportunities more visible and accessible to both prospective and current members.

If selected, I would strengthen the society’s presence across platforms through clear communication of events, collaborative promotion with other societies, approachable content explaining key activities, and feedback collection to better tailor outreach. My aim is to grow engagement and ensure members feel informed, welcomed, and motivated to take part.

Hi, I’m Minh! 👋

If our society had a "Loyalty Card," I’d have a lifetime supply of coffee, I’ve attended 90% of all events this year! ☕️ It is a genuine joy to learn alongside such ambitious people.

Pick me because I am built for the "Outreach Grind." Need world-class speakers? I’m the girl who will send 100 cold emails a day until the industry's best are standing on our stage. 📧🔥

What I Bring to the Table 💼

  • The Outreach Expert: As the former Head of Community Outreach for UCL Street Aid, I managed high-stakes relationships between NGOs and corporate partners. Building bridges isn't just a skill for me—it’s a passion. 🤝
  • The Finance Pulse: I study Management Science and have completed two Private Equity (PE) internships. I speak the language of finance, which helps me "sell" our society to top-tier firms. 📊
  • The People Person: While I love numbers, the people inspire me most. I believe every speaker we bring in has a unique story that can change a student’s career path. 💗

My Vision 🌟

Meeting "legacy" speakers like Lauren Frodsman (Head of Structured Sales, Standard Chartered) taught me that true leadership is about helping others grow. As your Outreach Officer, my goal is to bring those very leaders to you.

When you vote for me, you aren’t just picking a "leader" in a suit. You’re picking a friend who will work tirelessly to ensure you get to talk to industry legends and shine in your own way! 🤝❤️

Let’s build your network and your future together. Shall we onboard? >:D 🚢✨
