To be honest, when I first joined the Investment Society, I felt a bit overwhelmed. Like many first-year Econ students, I saw the investment industry as this exclusive world that was hard to navigate. But through our Finance Conferences and workshops, I realized that this society isn’t just about spreadsheets—it’s about providing tools and networks for students to succeed. That’s why I want to be your Marketing Officer: I want to translate that insight into a voice that reaches every student, regardless of background.

My time in previous marketing roles taught me that a great post isn’t just about “looking good” on Canva; it’s about communicating value. Whether I’m promoting an alumni event or designing a flyer for a workshop, my goal is to make the person on the other side feel: “This opportunity is for me.” I bring the technical skills, but also the commitment to be a teammate you can rely on—the one there for late-night edits and last-minute brainstorms.

I don’t just want to promote events; I want to build a bridge to the industry. I want our content to be so accessible and engaging that even the most hesitant freshman feels inspired to attend their first alumni panel. I’m ready to listen, learn, and put in the hard work to make our society the most supportive investment community at UCL. Let’s make finance something everyone feels they can belong to.

Having worked with the UCLIS Marketing Department—and independently—since the beginning of the academic year as a FYR to promote a range of events, and having managed both our Instagram and LinkedIn accounts, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed marketing for UCLIS and want to continue contributing. I’m now ready to build on this experience by making our content more consistent and creative, from planning and copywriting to design, while also raising the standard of our output through more short-form video and consistently professional event photography. I’m also excited to liaise with all departments to keep our content cohesive across platforms, while widening our reach beyond Instagram and LinkedIn: for example, by building a stronger presence on Rednote and using our website more actively so that students outside the society can clearly see our events and impact. Ultimately, this would help expand UCLIS’ visibility and support longterm membership growth. Additionally, I would love to continue contributing to UCLIS merchandise design as a way to strengthen our identity on and off campus.

Hi everyone! I’m running for Marketing Officer for the Investment Society because I want to help showcase the opportunities and events that the society offers to students interested in finance and investing.

At my previous school, I helped promote major events by designing posters for charity fundraisers and school activities, as well as creating promotional videos for large events that were shared across social media. Through this, I developed experience in creating engaging visual content and understanding how effective promotion can increase awareness and participation.

If elected, I would work to ensure the society’s events, speaker sessions, and workshops are promoted clearly and consistently across our social media platforms. This could include designing eye-catching graphics, helping produce short promotional videos, and supporting campaigns that build excitement around upcoming events. I would also aim to make our content informative and engaging so that members stay updated and more students are encouraged to get involved with the society.

Investment Society provides valuable opportunities for students interested in finance, and I would be excited to help promote these events and contribute to growing the society’s reach and engagement.

I’m standing for Marketing Officer because the Investment Society already delivers excellence, but now it’s time to amplify it.

Through my experience as a marketing intern, I’ve learned how to grow platforms strategically and increase real engagement with not just impressions, but interaction. I understand how to create content that people don’t scroll past, but save, share, and act on. Marketing isn’t just about visibility; it’s about participation.

Having designed materials for consulting firms and Model United Nations conferences, I know how powerful branding can be when it’s clear, consistent, and intentional. Presentation builds credibility - and credibility builds trust. I’ll bring that same polish and strategic thinking to every campaign, every event launch, and every collaboration.

For the Investment Society, that means more interactive content, smarter event promotion, stronger cross-society partnerships, and campaigns that speak to ambitious students across UCL, not just those already in finance. I want to increase turnout, boost engagement across platforms, and turn passive followers into active members.

If you want higher engagement, vote for me.
If you want stronger outreach across UCL, vote for me.
If you want the Investment Society to become the biggest and most dynamic society on campus, vote for me.

Let’s grow it - and make it impossible to ignore.
