Investment Society: Conference Officer

I’m standing to deliver the conferences that members genuinely value. As Conference Officer, I will focus on securing high-calibre speakers, relevant panels, and strong sponsor partnerships that reflect today’s investment landscape. From buy-side insights to emerging markets and alternative assets, the conferences should inspire and inform. I also want to improve logistics, accessibility, and promotion to maximise attendance and engagement. With careful planning and ambitious outreach, we can create flagship events that will strengthen our society’s reputation and will expand professional opportunities for members.

I am running for VP Conference & Competitions to deliver ambitious, well-executed, and high-impact opportunities for members across all years.

As an executive this year, I supported sponsorship coordination with Standard Chartered, helped host the event, led the Goldman Sachs event, and supported the 2025 Finance Conference. I have also been consistently involved in the society’s in-person events, so I understand what members value and what makes events successful.

Over the summer, I supported sponsorship outreach to 25+ firms and helped pitch UCLIS in sponsorship conversations, and I want to bring that same momentum into this role. I delivered large-scale events during a stock exchange internship, with direct exposure to professional stakeholders, and previously held treasurer and executive roles in finance-related societies, strengthening my organisational, communication, and execution skills.

   Build on the conference’s strong reputation by bringing in more top-tier speakers and well-known industry voices.
2. Enhance the Attendee Experience
   More interactive opportunities and dedicated networking time, including the stock pitch competition.
3. Expand the Society’s Competitions Platform
   Create more competitions on campus and in firms’ offices to build practical skills and confidence. Stronger member feedback before and after competitions, so events improve and members are heard.
