Ice Club: Treasurer

If I get this job, I'm lowkey gonna:

For hockey

1. Argue with the SU to get more FUNDING so we can have free friendlies and travel reimbursement for away games and nationals.
2. I'll find us a COACH, ofc the SU has to fund this. We can't be a marginalised TeamUCL anymore!
3. Organise friendlies that are IN LONDON and not on Sunday late at night and 9999 miles away.
4. Definitely redo the jersey and maybe a team logo redesign. A design contest for these will be held, and everyone will be able to choose their dream designs.
5. Get our own team Hockey bag, SkateSkin, cap, and more...
6. Haven't thought of more, but will let u know...

For Figure Skaters and us all:

1. I'll get us more ice time... more games, more shows, more socials with other clubs and societies... Maybe even go international...

Hi everyone! I'm Luther, I'm from Hong Kong, and I'm currently a first-year here at UCL. I've played hockey for 15 years, and now play on the Yetis A team.

Committed to helping expand the club and grow hockey at UCL, here's what I plan to do as your treasurer:

• I will continue what past treasurers have done—helping the president with rink bookings (hopefully securing all home games at our home rink), organising events like friendly games, and ordering team kit—while also finding the most cost-effective options and working to reduce costs for everyone. I'll also look for the most affordable travel options for away games so the team can travel together as much as possible (because who doesn’t love team bus karaoke?).
• I aim to reach out to more teams, companies, and potential sponsors to secure support (which means free stuff, hopefully!) and to increase the club's visibility and promote the sport. For example, for this year's varsity game, I managed to bring in multiple photographers and videographers—some with strong social media followings—from as far as Cardiff to film and take photos for free, helping raise the Yetis' profile in British hockey.

Overall, with me as treasurer, I'll do my best to make sure we have a great season across all teams, on and off the ice, without breaking the bank.
