Hockey Club (Women's): 4XI/Beginners Captain

Hi everyone! I’m Rosie, and I’m standing for 4’s Captain because I genuinely care for this team, and the impact it has had on me this year. Being part of the 4’s has made university hockey something I genuinely look forward to every week (something teenage me would never have expected me to say).

Creating an environment where people feel included and can have fun is something very important to me, and I would love to shape this in a leadership role next year. As the social team (but no less important…!), we thrive on a positive and supportive atmosphere at both training and socials - something we should be actively building and maintaining every week. 

I joined as a complete beginner, so I know how daunting it can be to walk into a big sports club with no experience. This is a perspective I could bring to the position of captain to help make sure everyone feels valued and included no matter their ability. Because of that, fresher integration would be a real priority for me. It is essential that our new members feel part of the team from the beginning, so they enjoy playing hockey and want to stay involved throughout the year. This team has given me a lot this year, and I’d love the chance to give something back. 

Lastly, I think my near-perfect Scala record this year speaks to my complete commitment to this club!
