Barbara Ye

I am running for Treasurer of the GUILD because after engaging closely with many of its events and initiatives this year, I’ve seen the importance of strong financial management in enabling a vibrant, accessible and well-supported student community. Attending a wide range of GUILD activities gave me insight into what students value, and it motivated me to contribute to the society’s long-term financial stability and growth. My experience managing budgets, overseeing cash handling and coordinating multi-event fundraising programmes raising over €25,000 across year-round initiatives has equipped me with the operational discipline and transparency required for this role. I have coordinated procurement, tracked expenses, ensured accurate reconciliations and delivered financial summaries to stakeholders, all skills directly applicable to the GUILD’s financial operations. Additionally, my internship in finance strengthened my analytical mindset through exposure to credit assessment, compliance checks and structured financial documentation. As Treasurer, I aim to strengthen budgeting processes, ensure responsible resource allocation, expand sponsorship pipelines and introduce clearer financial reporting to increase accountability. Ultimately, I want to ensure that every pound spent directly enhances the student experience and supports a more inclusive, dynamic and ambitious GUILD for all members.

Harvey Pambaya

Vote Harvey for Guild Society's Treasurer

3 reasons why you should vote for me:

  1. Guild needs a Treasurer who understands both responsibility and growth. I’m currently the Treasurer of UCL Filipino Society and the Events Executive for Guild, with hands-on experience in managing budgets, sponsorships, SU processes, contracts, and full risk assessments for large-scale events.

  2. As FILSOC Treasurer, I’ve led financial planning for events from formal dinners to boat parties, ensuring we break even, manage risk properly, and protect member welfare. I’ve secured sponsorships, built partnerships with societies across the UK, and developed long-term relationships with small businesses.

  3. Beyond university, I interned at HDI Global SE, analysing risk exposures and supporting pricing decisions. At Deloitte’s Innovation & Ventures Internship, I worked on financial modelling and downside risk forecasting. These experiences strengthened my ability to think strategically about financial risk and long-term sustainability.

As Guild Treasurer, I will:

  • Increase and diversify revenue streams
  • Improve transparency and financial reporting
  • Ensure events are financially viable before approval
  • Strengthen collaboration between societies
  • Make events accessible to everyone

Remember, a strong society needs a stronger Treasurer

Vote for Harvey.
