Gender and Feminism Society: Treasurer

Hey everyone!! My name is Carlota and I'm a 3rd year ISPS student, currently on a year abroad in Buenos Aires. Some of you may recognise me from last year - I was Activism and Fundraising Officer! I'm putting myself forward for Treasurer because I'd LOVE to rejoin GenFem when I'm back at UCL next year, and I think I have the experience that the role demands!! I've got lots of leadership experience with UCL societies (I was also president of European Horizons last year), so I know the ins and outs of working with the SU and running a society. I'd be able to assist the president with anything needed and run the society efficiently! I also, of course, have lots of experience with GenFem. We ran some really cool and successful events last year and formed a pretty large community with some amazing discussions (plus raised lots of money for some great causes!) so I'd love to ensure that keeps happening next year! hi i am lizzie, ive been a regular member of genfem for my whole time at ucl.

i am running for treasurer because

• i love numbers and maths (#steminist)
• i am good with money - I have organised events including a charity fashion show which raised over £10,000 for medical aid in Burma. So, I am familiar with budgeting and financial strategy.
• I am currently interning at an autism CIC where I'm learning about making the most out of money we receive, I would apply this in genfem to make the most out of the union + membership fees (which I would always encourage members to purchase) 
• as treasurer, i would use the membership money so we can have cheap social gatherings often like picnics, snacks during genfem, movie nights etc these may not sound particularly crazy but i think it would help build our community, more memberships = more funds
