Friends of Médecins sans Frontières Society: Treasurer

I’m running for Treasurer because I want to help Friends of MSF continue raising money for an important cause while organising engaging and well-run fundraising events.

As a Global Humanitarian Studies BSc student, I’m really interested in humanitarian action and global health, and I’d love to support the society in raising funds that contribute to the work of Médecins Sans Frontières. I was the First Year Rep for FoMSF in the 2025/26 academic year and got a feel for how this society works and what to do in this role. 

If elected, I would focus on:

• Creative fundraising events - organising things like bake sales, charity pub quizzes, and raffle nights to raise money for MSF

• Collaborative fundraisers - working with other societies (such as RDR or cultural societies) to run larger joint fundraising events

• Transparent and organised budgeting - making sure the society’s finances are well tracked and clearly communicated so members know the impact of the funds raised

• Themed charity events - hosting events such as international food nights or charity socials that both raise funds and bring the society together

Friends of MSF is a society full of people who care about humanitarian issues, and I’d love to help ensure we continue to raise meaningful funds while building a strong and engaged community

Hi everyone! I’m Rosa, and I'm running for Treasurer. MSF’s work is incredibly important, providing critical medical aid to those who need it most around the world, and I would love to contribute to this mission further by taking on the role of Treasurer.

In this role, I would manage our finances clearly and transparently, ensuring the society can plan effectively, run impactful events, and grow sustainably.

I’m currently the Advocacy Officer, and over the past year, I’ve been involved in the society through organising various fundraising events and promoting MSF’s vital work, which has given me a strong understanding of how the committee operates and what goes into running successful activities.

I’ve really enjoyed being part of Friends of MSF this year and would love the opportunity to stay involved and help the society continue to grow next year !
